I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, guiding individuals to regain control of their lives through evidence-based therapy in a warm and compassionate environment. My doctoral residency and fellowship at Duke University equipped me with specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), providing me with a comprehensive background in addressing complex mental health challenges.
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I am passionate about providing psychoeducation, empowering clients with knowledge about their mental health to foster understanding and growth. I emphasize a collaborative process, working alongside clients with empathy and support to address both immediate concerns and long-term goals. Together, we will focus on developing effective coping strategies, managing emotions, and navigating life's stressors with resilience and clarity. The best gift I can offer you is helping you get closer to your goals.
What sets my practice apart is the integration of empirically supported treatments, ensuring you receive the most effective care possible. Marissa Laritz, PsyD, Psychology Associate
I am passionate about helping others heal with evidence-based practices. My doctoral internship at Prince William Family Counseling allowed me to specialize working with families with a variety of issues.
I also enjoy working with individuals who are struggling with trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety and depression. I can also help those who may present with ADHD, mood, and personality concerns.
I incorporate CBT, DBT, and mindfulness in therapy and look forward to explaining more about those terms when we meet!
Additionally, I have training in conducting psychological assessments with adults when working in a neuropsychology private practice.
